The Bears signed their first round pick….an untested rookie tackle….to a five year deal worth a reported $16 million dollars. And Bears’ general manager Jerry Angelo had this to say on Wednesday about the Devin Hester holdout: ”We did tell Devin we were going to address his situation and we have,” Angelo said. “That’s where it is. The timing of it maybe wasn’t satisfactory to him, but again, those things just kind of run their course.” Excuse me? ’Those things just kind of run their course’?
There is arguably no more valuable player on the Bears’ squad than Devin Hester. The man has accounted for 78 points over the past two seasons….without the Bears’ offense ever having to set foot on the field. He’s electrified the entire league! Is there anyone in the NFL more deserving of a contract renegotiation? Jerry Angelo, I ask you, what are you thinking? This deal should have been done a long ass time ago.
Quit screwing around and give the man his due.

CLIPPERS FANS UNREJOICE
Ain’t that some sh*t?
It would’ve been nice for lowly Clippers fans (myself included) to have more than one false week to brag about what was coming in 2009. But alas, as quickly as the dream began….it”s ovah. If early reports are true, Elton Brand is gettin’ up outta L.A. and heading east to the Sixers. The Clippers just CANNOT get it together. Damn. -Damn, damn, damn.
Perhaps Keith Closs is still available.

Well I’ll be damned. I think we all believed that the Lakers had more fight in them. Or at least a little more swagger. Were they THAT bad or were the Celtics just that good?? This IS the same Celtics team that let the Hawks push them to a game 7 in the first round of the playoffs. Of course it’s also the same Celtics team that had the best record in the NBA this year. Go figure.
Now, I despise the Red Sox and Patriots equally….generally I have no use for the Celtics either. But I have mixed emotions about this victory. I gotta say it was nice to see Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and KG officially get their crowns. Nice for Doc too. And admittedly there WAS some pleasure involved in watching Kobe take one between the eyes. –Don’t get me started.
What a disappointing series overall though, huh? So much for all the hype and history.

It certainly makes for good television. My Sunday afternoon movie plans were flat out cancelled after DeShawn Stevenson went upside LeBron’s head in the second quarter of the Cavs’ game 4 victory. But now the Wizards’ bloated, delusional and childish schemes are simply too much to take.
It’s almost comical. I won’t even touch Stevenson’s ridiculous statement that LeBron is “overrated”. We all know that had to be his attempt at sarcasm. But now Brendan Haywood has something to say? “Awww, they are trying to hurt me ” Haywood said, in a whiny, high-pitched voice to mock LeBron James.
BRENDAN HAYWOOD. Are you kidding me? BRENDAN HAYWOOD.
Is this imbecile intimidating to ANYONE? Duuude, if you were half an inch shy of 7 ft. you wouldn’t even be in the league.
I’m quickly losing any respect I had for the Wizards. Confidence is one thing. What the Wizards have going on is completely something different. And I’ve seen enough.
‘Bron. Finish ‘em.
